Miguel Angel Jimenez Joins 2017 Tournament Field

The DICK’S Sporting Goods Open is thrilled to announce the commitment of the Most Interesting Golfer in the World, Miguel Angel Jimenez, to its 2017 Field.  This will be Jimenez’s inaugural visit to Endicott, NY and first time golfing at the En-Joie Golf Course.

Jimenez, also known as The Mechanic, holds the record as the Oldest Winner on the European Tour at 50 years and 133 days when he won the Open de Espana in May 2014. In 26 starts on the PGA TOUR Champions he has 17 Top-10s and 4 victories.  He also boasts 21 European Tour victories and 7 Asian Tour victories. He currently sits in 3rd Place in the Charles Schwab Cup race.  The Spaniard was a part of two victorious European Ryder Cups Teams in 2004 and 2010.

“We are excited to finally welcome Miguel to Endicott.  To add another player of his pedigree to our field will enable us to showcase the world’s best Champions at the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods Open,” said Tournament Director John Karedes.  “We have been working with Miguel and his agent since he turned 50 to join us and we are thankful that his 2017 global schedule affords us this opportunity.  He has heard so much about the tremendous local hospitality from his fellow Professionals that he can’t wait to join us!”
