Couples Commits

ENDICOTT, NY - With its defending champion on the premises for the first time since his victory, Dick's Sporting Goods Open officials announced additions to its stellar 2012 Tournament Field, including past B.C. Open Champion Fred Couples. Winner of seven Champions Tour events to go with his 15 PGA TOUR Victories, Couples is to tee it up at En-Joie for the first time since the 1995 B.C. Open. He was the 1991 B.C. Open Champion, and Masters Champion a bit less than seven months later.

Among others joining a field that'll feature Couples and reigning champion John Huston are Bernhard Langer, Brad Faxon, Hale Irwin, Craig Stadler and Hal Sutton.

"That isn't to overshadow some of the other big, big names coming, but obviously Freddie brings that Presidents Cup, that Masters, that Boom-Boom allure that I think people are hungry to see," Karedes said of Couples' value to the Dick's Sporting Goods Open field.
